Les Yeux Sans Visage

Dr. GĂ©nessier, a famous surgeon, feeling guilty over his daughter’s facial disfigurement in an accident for which he was responsible, uses his assistant Louise to kidnap young women in order to transfer their faces to Christiane’s.

  1. Christiane is such a melancholic and ethereal creature - and Edith Scob is so unbelievably beautiful under that disturbing mask!

  2. I've never actually seen the film, but the screenshots alone look pretty creepy. Isn't it funny the way it doesn't take much for something to become unsettling?! It's not like the mask is grotesque or anything, but it's still very disconcerting.

  3. Christiane's actual face is more disturbing than the mask itself - doll-like, flawless, otherworldly. The dinner scene after the successful face transplant left me in awe.
